I had been counting down the days till 'The Nursery' since Pete so lovingly bought me a place in Tim Coulson's workshop for my 25th birthday last month. Tim's photography is truly amazing and I am in constant awe over his images on his website. What captures me about his photography is how different he is from other photographers. His ability to connect with and capture the natural beauty in his subjects while leaving his photographs virtually untouched is a talent that I hope to one day grasp. This is what I love about photography and this was one of the reasons why I jumped at the chance of attending his workshop in Perth yesterday.
After learning a tonne of important basics and turning my camera onto manual (and I solemnly swear to never go back to Auto!), here are a few snaps I captured...
Overall the day was exceptionally inspiring and I valued every minute. It was great to meet other budding photographers who were all at different levels with their camera's but all wanting to learn the same thing. A big thank you to Tim's wife, Kesh, who put up with a bunch of strangers taking photo's of her yet modeled so beautifully.
Right now I cannot wait to get out there and put everything I learned to use. I am currently on the hunt for a new lens, or as I like to say an "upgrade" in order to gain better quality images with a bigger aperture. And when that happens (hopefully soon), poor Pete is going to have to get used to being my part time model for awhile unless anyone else out there wants to be photographed?!?!
