It has been a crazy few weeks. Somehow I still have my head above the water. Just.
My last bit of energy was zapped away by the year 12 retreat. Three days spent journeying and reflecting with some really great students in a place I couldn't even point to on a map! As tiring as it was it was also just a really good time. I am so lucky to be surrounded by such wonderful young people who continue to challenge and amaze me. It's times like these that I count myself lucky with what I do.
Monday last week I celebrated my 25th birthday. A quarter-of-a-century-old! Though I grumbled about having to go to work on my birthday, I couldn't have been happier as one of my year 8 art classes sang me the most loudest, off pitch, hilarious, happy birthdays ever. That arvo, I went to the gym as per normal (you know you're dedicated to your health and exercise routine when you're going to the gym on your birthday!) My day was topped off when I arrived home to a delicious Ratatouille dinner cooked by my talented fiancé as well as being spoiled with a scrumptious red velvet cupcake. Turning 25 really wasn't so bad.
The last few weeks in a nutshell...
Freshly baked banana bread. Yes! |
"Uncle Peach" with one of my gorgeous nephews who also had his birthday last week. |
My brother with my youngest nephew, Zeedan. |
Yesterday my beautiful friend Lauren married her best friend, Josh. Despite the dark clouds and rain, it was a perfect day filled with laughter, fantastic food and dancing to great music! I just love weddings! I love how they bring together family and friends to celebrate the love and commitment a couple has for each other. I love that moment the bride walks down the aisle and the look on the husband-to-be's face as he see's his bride. I just love, Love.
I had a go at taking some photo's on my DSLR. My first wedding with my camera! Here are just a few...
Congrats Mr. and Mrs. Dyson!
Just to finish off..
Average
//The muggy then cooler weather that Perth has received this week. Yuck. I'm not ready for long sleeves yet!
//Catching a throat virus from work two weeks ago. Ah, the joys of working with school kiddies
Awesome
//How spoiled I was on my birthday. Receiving parcels in the mail from the East really made my day!
//School holidays! (Need I say more?!)
//Welcoming back Green Tea. One of the few reasons why I like the cooler weather.
//Knowing that tomorrow we hop on a plane and fly to Melbourne! I've been counting down to this for weeks! I can't wait to see all my family and friends, watch the Pies at the MCG and celebrate our (Victorian) engagement!
