We(our netball team) played and won our first game on Wednesday night. It was awesome to be back on the courts again, this time indoors, having a bunch of laughs while staying fit! Friday night we ate the most delicious Indian food in Fremantle for a friends birthday, which was a nice and not to mention, a relieving way to end such a stressful crappy week.
Yesterday, Pete and I celebrated our engagement in Kings Park. This was of course one of two engagement celebrations, our second being in Melbourne next month. It was a gorgeous sunny day (like most days in Perth!) and after a morning of salad making and cupcake baking with one of my fabulous bridesmaids, Beth, we made our way to Kings Park and found a superb spot under some gum trees. All the fabulous people we had met in the last two years of living here, came, ate, drank and chilled out in what was an awesome afternoon. Here are a few snaps....
Next weekend I'm stepping out into the bridal world of wedding dress "looking". Looking because I have no intention to buy from any ridiculously overpriced bridal dress stores. I have found a dress that I loooove from an online store in America however I have the option of getting it made for a super-sweet price, I just need to know that the style suits...hence "looking"! We have taken a back seat on the whole wedding planning business. It was actually starting to do my brain in and I've given Pinterest a good rest. Who knew the wedding world would be so overwhelmingly crazy!? There are so many decisions to make and so much choice. "But what about those table centre pieces?". The thought of eloping to the Bahamas sounded pretty good (Don't worry mum if you're reading this, I promise we won't). So while we have all the main things sorted....date, ceremony/reception location, band, photographer, flowers growing in mums garden and a wicked bridal party...I'm keen not to think about it for a little while longer and continue to dodge the conversation starter, "How's the wedding planning going?"
And finally, also next weekend is the Freeway Bike Hike for Asthma. My first and definitely not my last bike race that I've been training for since the beginning of the year. All of which I hope is going to pay off as I pedal a 30km distance into the city. Can. not. wait!
In a nutshell...
Average
//School. This week. Glad it's over. New week ahead!
//Bringing only one sock to a training session on Wednesday. Hello blisters on feet! (First world problems)
Awesome
//Smashing out a Pump and RPM class back to back on a Sunday morning. Fitness just got real.
//Kashmiri naan bread at Maya Indian restaurant on Friday night. I can't get enough!
//The election of Pope Francis I. Here comes my Catholicism but gee-whiz it was amazing to watch especially after seeing Benedict at the Vatican in January. The Catholic Church has elected a truly amazing leader, committed to the poor and simplicity, I'm looking forward to seeing what he achieves within the Church.
//Beth's wonderful chocolate and vanilla cupcakes she baked for our engagement-do yesterday. They were delicious!
//Seeing the senior netball girls faces after training on Friday morning when I had made them berry smoothies for a post-training-treat. "Miss Nichols you are freaking amazing!" (student quote!)
//The down-pour of rain Perth received on Thursday arvo. I hadn't seen rain since I was in Italy! There was a huge sigh of relief amongst the Perth-ians as the sky let loose with a whopper storm!
